Acquisition expands network performance lineup

Fluke Networks has acquired Dublin-based Crannog Software, a market leader in the development of software and solutions that take advantage of NetFlow, IP-FIX, and IP-SLA data from the network infrastructure. Its flagship product, NetFlow Tracker, offers essential capabilities for voice and security applications including a unique full-flow forensics database storing all the original flows and all the available NetFlow fields within the flow. This complements Fluke Networks' rapidly growing solution set for application performance and VoIP performance for converged voice/data networks.

'The acquisition of Crannog Software builds on Fluke Networks' growing position in Enterprise Performance Management'.

'Our customers will be better equipped to manage application, VoIP and network performance across the LAN, WAN and multitiered server environments', said Jeff Lime, Fluke Networks' Senior Vice President of Marketing.

'Crannog Software's own statement about what they provide customers - all the network, all the flows, all the records, all the time - is a perfect addition to our own promise of Network SuperVision, providing more ways for customers to look at the network'.

This is Fluke Networks' second major acquisition in the enterprise performance management space in the past 12 months.

The acquisition of Crannog Software, following last year's purchase of Visual Networks, dramatically strengthens Fluke Networks' position in enterprise performance management.

Enterprise performance management is the delivery of application, VoIP and network performance management in a converging enterprise network environment, providing broad enterprise visibility, deep analysis and troubleshooting capability in an integrated system.

This allows IT organisations to maximise the value and performance of their IT infrastructure and deliver a superior end-user experience.

'This is a wonderful opportunity for our company and our customers', said Philip Harragan, Chief Executive Officer of Crannog Software.

'Combining our areas of expertise with Fluke Networks' enterprise solutions and worldwide presence will give our customers a more complete management package than we could offer alone'.

Together, Fluke Networks and Crannog Software provide unique insight and capabilities that allow application and network managers to make rapid decisions, ensuring the quality of experience for their users.
