Programmable supplies produce higher voltagesThe programmable PAS series is the latest in a complete line of high-performance high-reliability DC power supplies manufactured by Tokyo-based KikusuiAvailable now in the UK from Telonic Instruments, the programmable PAS series is the latest in a complete line of high-performance high-reliability DC power supplies manufactured by Tokyo-based Kikusui. The PAS series are sophisticated variable-switching DC power supplies that refine and add to the advances of the conventional PAK-A Series. Although the case size remains unchanged from conventional models, the PAS series incorporates a new high-efficiency switching circuit and power-factor correction circuit with a power factor of 0.98 that suppresses higher harmonic currents. The PAS series comprises 27 models offering three different power levels - 350, 700 and 1000W - with maximum rated output voltages increased to 10, 20, 40, 60, 80, 160, 320 and 500V to reflect changes in the voltage ranges required for margin testing of DC/DC convertors, batteries, automotive electrical components and motor-operated tools to high voltage or larger capacity formats. This allows the PAS series to handle tests at 150% of 24V (36V) or at 150% of 48V (72V) with capacity to spare. The PAS series are controlled using a multifunction dial allowing full control of the voltage and current, and feature a high-brightness four-digit display that provides indications down to 10mV/1mA. An output power (W) display function is also provided. The end result is improved operability and visibility. Features include universal AC input, master slave control, remote sensing and the following analogue control functions: constant-voltage/constant-current output control function; output on/off control function; voltage and current monitoring; and power switch control function (external contact-based or voltage-based power switch off control). The PAS series also uses the Kikusui developed digital communication function, TP-Bus (twisted pair bus). |
