Operators can further extend Handset Revenue Analytics by integrating billing, customer care and other business support systems, using numerical data such as phone numbers within individual TDRs to identify the appropriate business support system (BSS) records. This capability allows operators to build reports that measure the revenue customers generate and understand the services and downloads they use. Operators can then tailor advertising and promotions that speak directly to customer preferences. They can even use ongoing calling location information to make informed judgments about where to place billboards or open stores. Operators can build reports on the appeal of particular handsets and decide which handsets to promote and which to upgrade. They can also measure trends in the popularity of third-party services and make cost-effective decisions about whether to continue these services.
