Available now from Aspen Electronics, the Pendulum Instruments CNT-91 is reckoned to be the world's most powerful timer/counter/analyser on the market. Both speed and resolution have been improved over the existing market leader, the CNT-90. The CNT-91 features: 50ps single-shot time interval resolution; 12digits/s frequency resolution; an exceptionally fast 250kHz measurement rate saved to internal 3.5Msample memory; and an expanded 2600 individual measurements per second via GPIB or USB.
Of particular interest is the ability to continuously stream data during the measurement process; this, combined with the high speed, makes the instrument ideal for production test applications.

Further, zero-dead-time frequency and period are standard features, allowing for accurate measurement and analysis of signal stability and Allan deviation calculations.

The high-resolution time and frequency measurements combined with 0.001 degree phase measurements, make the CNT-91 particularly useful for detecting small time and frequency changes, vital for R and D as well as production test applications.
An optional TimeView program converts the instrument to a modulation domain analyser, taking advantage of the high-speed measurements and massive store to capture very fast frequency changes in real time.

The CNT-91 includes the ability to program a pulse output from 0.5Hz to 100MHz for defining pulserate frequency (PRF).

The wide frequency range to 20GHz ensures the counter timer is eminently suitable for most carrier wave and microwave frequency measurement needs.

The menu-based graphical user interface ensures the instrument is quick to program and easy to use.

The clear graphical displays show distribution histograms, trends and modulation domain information, which speed interpretation of random signal distribution and measurement changes against time, from slow drift to fast jitter and modulation.

It displays up to 14-digit resolution, more than most other interpolating counters, and along with auxiliary measurement parameters, removes the need for additional instruments such as DVMs and oscilloscopes.
