Handheld testers cover many BERT requirementsThe LinkTest Single, LinkTest Single + and LinkTest Dual are designed to fulfil the requirements of a broad range of applications.A new range of compact handheld bit error rate testers from GL Communications can be used to test a wide variety of communications facilities and equipment types There are three basic units in the LinkTest range The LinkTest Single unit can test asynchronous, synchronous, T1, fractional T1, E1, fractional E1, modems, multiplexers, CSU/DSUs, T1 ESF CSUs, DU, NTUs and TIUs. The unit is supplied with V.35, RS232, RS422/RS530, X.21, DS1 (T1, 1.544Mbit/s) and G.703 (E1, 2.048Mbit/s) interfaces, and it also supplied with a wall-mounted AC transformer. The LinkTest Single+ unit adds T3 and E3 testing capability. The LinkTest Dual unit adds dual interface testing capability. According to Senior Product Manager Rob Bichefsky: "The LinkTest Single, LinkTest Single + and LinkTest Dual are designed to fulfil the requirements of a broad range of applications that may be used to test datacommunications equipment, networks, systems and line facilities".
